AXiD headquarters bought it for all chapters. We pay a $5 per member fee per semester and all chapters have GIN. In addition to the website itself, it's more of a communication tool for all chapters - they use it to post announcements, use for mass emails, take votes, and t-shirt orders, etc....
Yeah, it is pretty cookie cutter, but there's 4 or 5 theme layouts that each chapter can choose from, and the interaction tool is REALLY easy to use to add additional pages per submenu of the preformatted webpage. There were ALOT of chapters out there that didnt have a website, or didnt bother to keep it updated, and headquarters wanted us to have GOOD websites, so and really didnt give the chapters an option to be able say "well, we cant afford to buy webhosting" or "we dont have time to upkeep a website..." etc... Mind you, each chapter still has the option of doing their own thing if they want to (and if they have a really great website that they dont want to give up) - but these sites are already premade, and out there ready for them to personalize, should they choose to use it.
Sorry, didn't mean to sound like I was knocking it. The GIN System/Chapter Communications are great front-end/back-end systems, just pricy. Although from doing it as a national program, $5 a member isn't too bad.
